Mason's Blessing

Hey - Just a quick note to let you all know when we are blessing Mason.
October 14th. Our sacrament meeting starts at 2:45pm and we have a new ward house. It is 1700 North and about 7th East here in North Ogden. We will be having a light lunch/dinner afterward.
If you are going to be able to come please let us know so that we can plan on how many people will be coming so we won't run out of food.
Okay - love to see you all there.

The Great Elmo Band Aid Tragedy

Holly had a great tragedy last night that we just had to pass on to one and all. Ryan got Holly some Elmo band aids awhile back for a "prize" as Holly loves all things Elmo. She has had to have one of these prized Elmo Band aids on one of her legs almost ever since. Last night she was in the bath tub and her Elmo band aid came off in the water. Ethan thought that he would be funny and tossed the band aid at Ozzy (our cat). Ozzy picked up the band aid in his month and left the bathroom with Holly yelling after him to leave her "Mel Mo" band aid alone. Ryan turned to try and get the band aid from Ozzy but Ozzy ate it before Ryan could get it. Well you would think that the world had ended. Ryan told Holly that Ozzy ate her band aid and she had the melt down to end all melt downs. So now I enter the room with Mason to Ethan and Ryan rolling in laughter and Holly in tears.
You would think that things would settle down after a few minutes after we got her a new Elmo band aid but NO.... Holly went after Ozzy and told him off. "Bad Kitty", "eat it...Mel mo Band aid...NO Ozzy" "Mean Kitty...NO eat Mel mo" and this went on for half and hour until bed time. Holly was still telling me about the "mean kitty" all the while I was trying to get her into bed. Then this morning when she got up, the first thing she did was go over to Ozzy and tell him off again!! So beware - Don't ever cross Holly or you will never live it down!!

Good Baby

I don't know what to do with myself... Mason is such a good baby. He doesn't really cry, not like Ethan did for the first 6 months of his life. Mason just sits and looks around and amuses himself, then maybe fuss' to let me know he is ready to eat and then falls asleep. He loves to cuddle which is a big change for me because Ethan and Holly both didn't like to be cuddled, they were in to big of a hurry to learn how their bodies worked so the could get moving.

Ryan has started calling Mason "GH" for "Good Hank". You know like Cotton Hill on King of the Hill named his second son Good Hank because he is the good son. Anyway we have been really careful not to say anything around Ethan because that just isn't fair to him. Ethan is a great little boy and we love him more than anything but he is a handful...BOTH Holly and Ethan are. Maybe Mason was sent to our family to give us some balance, but that still doesn't help me know how to be a Mother to such a low key child. I guess I will have to play it by ear and learn as a go, eh?

Time Fly's

Wow - does time fly! It's hard to believe that Mason is two weeks old. I took him in to the doctors for his two week check up and he has grown so much. He was 7 lbs. 1 oz. when he was born and he is already up to 8 lbs. 7 oz. He has had his day's and nights mixed up so I haven't really been getting a lot of sleep which is why I haven't posted anything for a while. I choose sleep over blogging, go figure! But Mason did sleep pretty good last night so I hope we are on the way to getting his sleep switched around to where it should be.

Ethan started school last week and he is loving it. The new preschool he is going to has a whole bunch of those black bears that you see for sale in Jackson Hole, filling the front yard. He has 12 kids in his class instead of the 4 he had last year and is getting along with everyone so far. Last year he had an on going battle with a little kid named Brock, so I hope Ethan stays friends with everyone this year.
Ryan went back to work today after a nice 2 and half week "vacation" that he took to help me out after Mason was born. I think he is glad because we have had a couple of challenges. Our Honda had some computer problems so it was in the repair shop for 4 days waiting for the part. Then last night the motor on our air conditioning went out. We were able to get it fixed today but I'm hoping now that Ryan has gone back to work nothing else will go out on us.

Holly picked up a cold last week and has now given it to everyone else in the family, including Mason. He's only two weeks old and already has a cold! We told Holly that she couldn't kiss her baby brother until her "stuffys" went away but it didn't work. We caught her kissing him anyway. I guess Holly is going to be one of those kids that if you tell her not to do something she will do it anyway just to because you told her not to.
Anyway I think that was brought us up to speed with everything and now I need to get some sleep!!!!!
