Easter and things...

I know Easter was a week ago but I am now just getting to posting one of the few pictures I have. Easter was not anything big this year because Mason was and is sick with a really bad cold. We have all had this cold for a month now and it will not go away. Mason has only had his cold for two weeks but he has a cough and has not been sleeping which means I haven't been sleeping. Anyway Easter morning I came home during Sunday school to put out the kids Easter treats and Mason had another seizures. Talk about freak me out! So with all of that we stayed home and didn't go down to Ryan's family's. It looks like we missed out but when my kids are sick I would rather have them miss out and feel better faster than take them and have them get sicker. Plus all the candy and junk doesn't help either. I know I'm the meanest Mom in the whole world.
I did manage to make a ham, potatoes and corn for Easter dinner though. Ryan always has me stock up on ham, and the stuff to make funeral potatoes at Easter because it is his favorite Sunday meal. So I guess it wasn't too bad, just quite.
Now for the other things. . .
*Holly has now slept in her own bed every night for a week. Yeah!
She still gets up at 6 am and crawls into bed with Dad, and Ryan LOVES it!
*Mason is about to get yet another tooth!
*Ryan got a lawn mower today and was all ready to use it except that it snowed. So he fertilized the lawn instead and got a really good idea about just how big our yard is. I hope he is still excited about all this in the summer when it is 102.
*Holly has officially started potty training! She went the whole day today with only 1 mishap. Yeah for Holly!
*Ethan is having his Kindergarten open house this coming Friday. I have been working on getting all his paperwork done and getting everything we need together to get him registered for school. I can't believe Ethan is going to be a kindergartner! Wow how time flies.
*Ryan is "encouraging" me to stop nursing Mason. I am having a hard time with the idea. I have just been able to bond with Mason better than my other two kids. Don't get me wrong I love all of my kids equally, its just I am trying to enjoy this time I have with him. Yes - I don't get as much sleep, and my hormones are still a little out of it, but I feel like I'm a better Mom. There is more to it than that, that I can't explain in words but I'm just having a hard time with it.
Ryan wants me to get back on my medication for ADHD. Its been over a year since I've been on it and I guess he just wants a wife that doesn't have so many "blond" moments anymore. So I'm working on it, cutting back on it slowly and giving him more bottles during the day. It helps that he is eating baby food too.
But anyway, anyone who has some advice on how I can make this transition better I'm all ears!

Be Happy

Well life goes on. We went down to Midvale on Wednesday for Ryan's Grammy Phelps' funeral. It was very nice and there was lots of fun memories shared. That is the way I would like to be remembered, with family and friends smiling. I also heard lots of "life is meant to be enjoyed" and "you need to help yourself to be happy". It hit me because I realized I haven't really been happy for a while. I have everything I ever wanted now, wonderful kids, a real home and a husband that loves me. I guess I have just been so caught up with the day to day stuff you know not enough time to do it all and kids being kids taking up all the time I have so that at the end of the day I'm stressed out, falling asleep on my feet and wishing I had just a little bit more time to take care of me.
I think I need to slow things down a bit and laugh a little more. I always tickle my kids when they are having a bad day. It always makes you have a better day when you can smile.
Anyway take the time to laugh and smile, it will make you feel better.

Many Things...

There are so many things that have happened over the past little while that I am just going to go down the list.

* Mason has been having these shaking episodes where his whole body shakes. The only way to describe it is like the way someone with pulzy shakes. He doesn't stop when you touch him and it was really freaking me out. So I said something to his doctor when I took him in a few weeks ago for his 6 month check up. She said it was a type of seizures and that we needed to have some test taken. He had a full blood work up, a CT scan and an EEG done. All came back normal!! So we down know what is going on. All the doctor says is to watch him and if he has anymore or if they get more frequent to bring him back in.

* Mason got his 3rd tooth in yesterday!!

* Ethan is going to a new preschool at Clearfield High School, which he loves! He gets to be taught by a bunch of teenage girls and he gets to go 4 days a week. I think he likes the girls - such a little ladies man. I hate to see him at 15!

*We went to our new ward today and it was very, very friendly. It is a little different that way - good - but different. We are just used to not being noticed by anyone when we go to new wards. I actually meet a sister today that looked really familiar to me and after talking to her a bit we realized that we worked together at Deseret Book about 10 years ago. Small world!

*My family room/ play room is still a mess! I'm sure it is going to be the death of me!!

*Ryan's Gammy Phelps passed away this morning about 4 am. She had had a stroke about a week and a half ago that incapacitated her completely and we knew it wouldn't be much longer. She had not been in good health for a very long time and been in a home for the past 5 years, I think, a long time anyway.
But I'm sure she is happy it be with her husband again, who past away 25 years ago this month. The funeral will be this coming week.

* Holly still won't sleep in her own bed for a full night! I guess Ryan's sister wouldn't sleep in her own bed right up until she got married. Sorry but I won't let my daughter do that. She will drive my crazy!!! I know I'm the meanest Mom in the whole world. Ethan tells me that daily.

The Truth Can Be Adjusted

Just watched Michael Clayton last night-all I can say is WOW! This was an extraordinary movie about a lawyer, Arthur Edens, who is working on a multi-billion dollar class-action lawsuit who suddenly has a crisis of conscience. Michael Clayton (George Clooney) works at the same firm as a 'fixer' who uses unconventional means to mend situations that clients and attorneys have created for themselves. He too seems to have a crisis as he watches Arthur struggle to come to terms with his past.
I love movies involving ethics and choices and how those choices impact not only ourselves, but those around us. I once toyed with the notion of becoming an attorney, thankfully I was too burned out after my undergraduate work to want to go that route. Instead, I took a couple of years off (7) then went back for my MBA. Now, if that would just pay off. After watching this movie, I am so grateful for parents who taught me from an early age that "telling the truth is the most important thing we do in this house".
See Michael Clayton-rated R for some language. No nudity nor violence. Plus, if I was a woman, I would want to marry George Clooney. He's hot!

Moved!

Wow - we are all moved. We moved last Saturday and had a few elders from our ward as well as a couple of friends (Craig and Brandon) help load up our 26 foot U-haul in the morning. We also loaded up our Honda, Subaru, and Annie and Dan's (Ryan's sister and her husband) Jeep. Then I still had to go back for a few other things we couldn't fit in. Boy we have a lot of crap!
Then our wonderful Relief Society sisters came over and help me clean our condo. That was the best thing!!! It saved me, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
Once we were loaded up that is when it started to rain and when we started over to the new house is started to snow! And I mean snow hard. The only thing going through my mind was "Oh - great. It just had to snow", and it snow the whole time we were unloading.
It only took about 3 to 4 hours to unload, thanks to the wonderful help of Annie and Dan, Brandon, and Craig with his two boys. Thank you so very much for all your help guys!! You really saved us!!
I can't imagine how long it would have taken us without every ones help.
It is so great having friends and family so willing to help out.
Well we are now all moved in and it has only taken us 6 days to get our computer up and running. We are about 3/4's of the way unpacked but we should be able to have everything pretty much settled after this weekend. It takes so much longer getting settled when you have so much "help" from little hands.
The kids are loving having their own rooms, although Holly is having a hard time at night. She is not used to sleeping alone. She has always had Ethan right there, so she has been sleeping in Ethan's room on our giant pillow. But Ethan told her today that she couldn't sleep in his room anymore. It took some getting her down but she will get used to it. Nightlights help a ton!!
Well as soon as I can find my camera I will take some pictures and post them of our new home. Wow - I can't believe we have a real home! I guess good things do come to those who work for them.
