Going Crazy

I have had a crazy couple of weeks!! Since Mason's blessing we have been looking into getting into a bigger home. We have applied for a per-approval on a new mortgage so we could have a price range when looking at homes.

What a NIGTHMARE!!! First of all the lady I am working with is not the best TO be working with. She doesn't communicate things that well, she NEVER answers her phone, I always have to leave a message and wait for her to get back to me, plus she doesn't really have any helpful suggestions on the best way to do things. She just tells you what things are needed black and white. I don't know about you but I look to people that are "the experts" to help me through the process, not just give tell me "get me this and well get back to you".

Anyway - we got a call this morning saying the underwriters needed MORE documentation and then we get to wait some more.

I could just pull my hair out!!

The kids and I have also received our flu shots, except Mason because he is too little. Ethan had to watch me get mine first to see how much it hurt. I didn't even flinch so Ethan thought "Okay I can do this" and then he got his, in the arm (his first in the arm). Lets just say there was much weeping and wailing... Holly got hers last and was not very happy either, but I feel better with everyone having flu shoot so that maybe Mason won't get sick. Now I just need to get Ryan to get his...

Mason also had his 2 month check up yesterday. He is now 23 inches tall (61 % for his age), 13 lbs. (81% for his age) and his head is so big that he is in the 96% for his age. He is growing so fast! Mason does have some reflux issues that he has to take some for, but I hope it helps because the poor little kid sounds like he always has something in the back of his throat.

Halloween is tomorrow and Ethan for one is very excited. I will post pictures once we get back from trick or treating.

The Blessing of Mason

We blessed our dear little Mason yesterday. Ryan's family was all able to come, except Liz and her family as they have moved to Colorado. They were missed and we thought of them as were gathered at our house afterward for a luncheon. We also had our good friends Jen and Craig Roper with their twin boys. They are good friends and have been such a support to us over the past, I don't know 5 years. Has it been that long???? Wow - it seem the older I get the faster time seems to pass.

Mason was so cute wearing the outfit that his Daddy was blessed in as well as his big brother. He was so good during his blessing too. He fell asleep just before and slept right through the whole thing not moving once, which was good because his Dad was very nervous. Ryan did a beautiful job and the Lord gave Mason a wonderful blessing. I know I felt the spirit and know that I am very blessed to be this wonderful little boys Mom.

Grandpa Bo

My Dad and his wife Melody were able to come down from Edmonton last weekend to visit us and meet the new grandson. We had a nice visit all though I think we might have bored them to death. We just talked and watched baseball, and football all weekend. I need to come up with something fun to do with them next time, that is saying they want to make the trip down again.

We were able to have a turkey dinner for Canadian Thanksgiving, although we had ours on Sunday instead of Monday. Ryan made the turkey because I always dry them out when ever I try to cook one. But Ryan is really good at it and it helps to spilt the work to put dinner together. I love it when Ryan decides to cook!!

We sure liked having them and the kids loved having them around. Holly warmed up to both of them and gave lots of kisses and hugs. Ethan had fun playing "figures" and Geo tracks with Grandpa Bo and wore him out I'm sure.

Anyway, Grandpa Bo and Grandma Mel headed back to Edmonton Tuesday morning and stopped to give both kids last minute kisses and hugs which they loved. We are all looking forward to their next visit.

The Free Spirit that is Holly

Holly just has no fear and gets into everything. Just yesterday we had two near death experience with her. Night before last we were getting the kids ready for bed and Ryan noticed that Holly had something in her mouth. He didn't think much of it as I give each of the kids one of those "gummy" vitamins every night so Ryan just thought she had her vitamin in her mouth. Well when I laid her down in her bed she started choking. Talk about scared me to death! Let me just say I learned how to give the Heimlich to a two year old really fast and out came a marble. Where she got it from I will never know.

Then yesterday I was in the shower and heard Holly cry and kind of screaming in my bed room. I called for Ryan who came running and found Holly with yarn wrapped around her neck. She was pulling at it trying to get it off and tightening it around her neck with every pull.

Holly keeps me on on toes constantly with everything she gets into. She is such a free spirit and has no fear with pretty much anything. She is so kind and caring and just finds joy in almost everything. "Wow" is her word for everything she finds interesting. We love her love of life and everything in it, it is just if she lives to see her third birthday it will be a miracle.

Guitar Hero

As I sat on the couch last night I watched my dear husband play his latest addiction, Guitar Hero, I realized I am really married to a very big child. Oh Guitar Hero is a type of video game for the Play Station that you play with a special guitar that comes with the game, for those of you who don't know what it is.

It is so funny to watch Ryan though because he really gets into it, I guess he really is able to live out a dream to play the guitar, in a way. But it really makes me smile to watch him and I know that, that is why Ryan is such a great Dad.

I guess you have to be a big kid to be able to play like a kid and Ethan and Holly love playing with their Dad. Smiles are big and many when Ryan walks through the door from work and the noise level goes up to the point you can't hear yourself think. All Ethan wants to do when his Dad comes home is play with him and when it is time for bed it is such a chore just to get them to sleep at night. Mind you it is my job to put them to bed after Ryan gets them through the bathtub and are all amped up.

Anyway all I guess I am trying to say is I am very blessed to be married to such a big child.

Laptop

Ryan got to keep his old laptop from work when he got his new one. We have been trying for months to get it up and going so I can use it at home. With some help from one of Ryan's friends we finally have it going. Yeah!!
It is so much easier to work on my little side business and post things on this blog if I can work on them on the laptop in the kitchen. Then I don't have little people wanting to sit on my lap while I work, I can just stand at our kitchen bar. For some reason the kids leave me alone for the most part while I work in the kitchen. So I will be able to keep my posting more up to date from now on. I have just been a little over whelmed for the past few weeks trying to learn how to me a Mom to three kids.
Mason is changing so much. He is getting to look more like a part of the family, I mean you can now see some resemblance between him and his brother and sister. He finally seems to have this days and nights sorted out, Thank goodness, but I'm still pretty tried from getting up 3 times a night to feed him.
Holly is still a little mother when it comes to her little brother. She is doing well with a few jealousy issues, like wanting to have her diaper changed before Mason, and wanting me to get her something every time I need to feed Mason. The good thing is that she has become Daddy's "girl friend" now, because Mom doesn't have as much time to spend with her as she used to and Ryan just loves it!
Ethan is a proud big brother and he just wants to be included with EVERY thing having to do with his little brother. He just is not understanding that it is just not possible for him to help with everything. So he has been acting out in frustration. In so many ways this is harder to deal with than Holly but I know that this too shall pass. We just need to get used to having another little person around and its just too soon for that to happen.
